past deposits from a future yet to come
“Past Deposits from a Future Yet to Come” is a large scale public video installation in Austin, Texas. The work, a collaboration with Teresa Hubbard and Alexander Birchler, features a cascade of objects from communities who have lived in the Austin area for the past two hundred years. Every day objects, such as buttons, coins, bottles, and marbles, were photographed in extremely high definition, and cascade across an enormous screen 120x20 feet. The score was performed live at the works premiere, but can be heard streaming in synch with the video almost every night through 2030 at the Moody Amphitheater in Waterloo Park.
